The Contemporary City

 What is the contemporary city?

The Venetians demand a city which suits their needs as citizens.

For too long the Venetian citizens have been marginalised as extras in a touristic play.

They want their city back.

They want places to live.

They want places to work.

They want places to shop.

A place to belong, a home.

The past is its own place and Venice must accomodate its own citizens.

To exist for another is not existence but servitude.
